Dry Red Wine
Origin: Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhone, France
Category: AOC Cotes Du Rhone
Variety: Grenache Noir, Syrah
Characteristics: Cuvée Maclura is a paradox. On its label it manages to have the lowest appellation of origin of the entire Rhône, Côtes du Rhône, but also the term Château, which means that Domaine Pegau makes this wine from a privately owned vineyard, which even has a tower in it ! Cuvée Maclura is perhaps the best Côtes du Rhône, incredibly soft, with a unique purity of fruit and a tannic texture that many Châteauneuf du Pape would envy. It is also one of the best value for money on the planet.
Tasting: With an intense red color, Elegance, purity of fruit and gentle tannins give a Rhone red that wins immediately.
