Mavro Kalavritino is an indigenous red variety of the area of Kalavrita and in general of Orini Aigialeia. It is a variety that gives wines with a medium color, several tannins, medium to full body and aromas reminiscent of red and black fruits, flowers and spices. Wines from this variety seem to have the potential to evolve for a few years in the bottle. It is found in single-variety wines but also in blends with indigenous and international varieties.
The Winery of Tetramythos located in the mountainous Aegialia ionizes Mavro Kalavrito with the absence of additional sulfites and other interventions and the use of native yeasts.
In the mouth it has a moderate body, balanced acidity and moderate but juicy tannins. Juicy, rich red and black fruit dressed with notes of cinnamon, vanilla and chocolate. Enjoyable aftertaste that persists.
